that the position and duties of English Constables at Hongkong are very different indeed from those of English Constables at home. It is to be remembered, moreover, that here They have to contend with a tropical climate, very trying and depressing to English constitutions; and yet that they are not really, (it is believed), paid so well as English Constables discharging less dangerous and difficult duties in the healthy and invigorating climate of Australia.
